Hello FinS Members!

We are excited to announce the deails of Fruits in Suits 2nd Anniversary Gala!

On Friday, September 2, 2016, from 17:30pm, with the support of the Australian Embassy, Tokyo, and co-sponsorship by the Harvard Club of Japan, Fruits in Suits (FinS) will hold its 2nd Anniversary Gala on the grounds of the Australian Embassy. The evening’s theme is: Corporations Coming Out in Japan. In the first half of the evening, we shall be joined by a distinguished group of professionals and activists who are pioneering the adoption of LGBT policies within companies and moving forward understanding of the needs of LGBT individuals. Diversity Management has become a key focus for companies in managing human capital, and the realization that innovation and profits stem from employees that are not only very talented but also diverse and comfortable in their own skin. Problems are solved and new ideas thrive in a diverse workforce.

FinS is now an incorporated association, and this is our first official fundraiser. Our aim is to raise 20 million yen over the next year towards the establishment of our grant foundation. Proceeds will go into the fund to financially support LGBT initiatives and projects in Japan. Because the event is held at the embassy, prior registration on Peatix is mandatory. Participation is divided into three levels: corporate contribution, individual contribution, and student contribution. Each price is single entry. We ask that decision-making executives support the establishment of the fund through the corporate tier. Four or more persons from a single company receive sponsorship returns. Individuals and students should register with the other tiers. Capacity is very limited, so we suggest registering as early as possible.

We look forward to celebrating with many of our members old and new, and we extend a hearty welcome in advance to those Harvard Club of Japan members that will join us that evening.
